Posted by ilmseeker On March - 5 - 2009

The First IMAX® movie about Islamic Civilization coming to Baltimore this weekend only!

Journey to Mecca: In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta tells the epic story of Ibn Battuta, one of the greatest explorers of Islamic civilization, who leaves Morocco in 1325 and takes a famed journey 3,000 miles east to perform Hajj in the sacred city of Mecca. This big screen IMAX experience follows Ibn Battuta’s journey, zeroing in on the Hajj - the first and only time an IMAX camera has been admitted into the Grand Mosque in Mecca to capture an aerial view of the Hajj from a helicopter hovering 200 feet above Mecca.

This big screen IMAX movie, running approximately 45 minutes, will be shown at the Maryland Science Center’s IMAX theatres on Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th at 3:20 pm both days.
